KAREL PRINSLOO

Senior Photographer

Karel is a Namibian photojournalist, with both Namibian and South African nationalities, and nearly 30 years of experience capturing stunning, impactful images in Africa, the Middle East, and Iraq; from changes in government, to humanitarian crises and recovery.

 

For 10 of those years, he served as chief photographer and photo editor for the Associated Press, East Africa. Karel’s body of work has been for such clients as UNICEF, WFP, War Child, Gavi

and multiple broadcast and social media outlets. Karel speaks English and Afrikaans, workable French, and minimal Swahili.​

Karel shoots with the high end DSLR cameras,

including:

  • 2 Canon 5 d mark 3’s

  • All lenses from 17 mm to 500mm

  • Magic Pro drone

  • Editing in Photoshop and Photo Mechanic

  • All images are shot in raw format.
